GDO 750 – Week 1 to 3

 

As we move towards the end of this adventure, it is time to focus on the Major Project module.  By the end of this first sprint I should have a complete collection of relevant research material to construct appropriate hypotheses, questions and/or aims to set you on your journey towards the completion of my project.

GDD720 Week 6

Up to this point, the space monster has two behaviours: wandering and detecting a door through which to escape. As simple as it sounds, I have spent several days testing how to implement this in C, which necessarily required me to learn how to access different types of information within different scripts and objects, which necessarily led me to deepen my knowledge of OOD.

GDD720 Week 4

 


After several days of reflection, I have reformulated my ideas to comply with the required guidelines. As I stated before, I have a strong preference for using a general algorithm that does not rely on Unity tools, to be able to take it to re-use it on other platforms or programming languages without having to export it with the mentioned engine. This is getting complicated!

When I first started planning the main guidelines of this new project, I missed one of the most critical requirements for the assignment: the game’s mechanics must include some innovation or unique element. What a plot twist! Realizing this caused me to rethink the whole concept for several days because my plan was everything but original… until now!

GDD730 Week 2

During this week our team had the opportunity to engage in discussion over many meetings. With several members in different time zones, we had to develop the best way to find an opportune moment to hold at least one online conference a week, using other additional tools such as messaging and emails as support.
We have had to overcome some resistance to learning how to use new tools and some well-known ones in a more professional way as Trello, Miro or the popular Discord.
